Tampa & Light Rail

Its good to see that some folks are keep this fight up.  As the price of oil continues to grow higher & higher these fine folks are attempting to save us from ourselves.  Even if the people who live in "Outer" Hillsborough County fight to end this cause.
Over the past 40 years or more the Florida plan on growth development was simple-there was none and if you just built it-people would come. Hence lovely little 'burgs like Brandon.  Suburbs with no center. Just wide mash of Homes & Retail and one major Highway to reach work, in the City Center.  That's Planning.
Our leaders finally catch a clue twenty years ago and start making plans to build a "High-Speed Rail" system in the middle of I-4, between Orlando & Tampa, thus making the dream of high tech corridor a reality.  After this fight and our Federal Gov't finally offering to help pay for this dream our newly elected Gov' Scott goes and pisses all over it.
You would think this pasion would die.  You would think that the fine people of Tampa would throw their hands up and say "They just don't get it".  You could agree that after getting slapped down a few times it begins to hurt a little.   Not these folks.

Now we begin the fight a new!  OK, we'll make a Tampa (City) only plan.  Hey, it worked for Orlando...Yea Gov' Scott nice switch you pulled, claim that High Speed Rail is $300 Million more than the State can pay but OK $500 Million for Orlando's rail plan...Nice Touch.

the fight goes on.  Kudos to those that believe in the fight.  Fight on!  Let's Get this Done!!

1990's

The 1990’s

Wow as I reflect with an ice-cold beer and full salt shaker my mind Harkin’s back to the days of peace, love and the Backstreet Boys.  Oh what a crazy time it was.

The country went to war and overwhelmed a rag tag force in Iraq. We all celebrated, a hotel I worked at even held a “Welcome Back Weekend” where service members could stay for $29.00 and attend a blow out in the High Energy Nightclub.  It was a time of great pride.  But we knew there were bad things coming our way.  There was a strange feeling of doom by some. The Michigan Militia was growing and other groups were taking up arms, training for the day the UN was going to take their guns away.  A Man named Ron Paul started calling for the USA to go bad to the Gold Standard, an idea the Gov’t Shitcanned after the Stock Market Crashed in 1930’s.  Yes things were good but we were thinking it was too good.

We were making on a false business model, Junk Bonds, Credit swaps and this new Thing Called the Internet.  “Dot.Com” became a way to get rich, who cares if your business plan showed NO HOPE of ever making a red cent; once it went public you were rich.  Things were so over heated even Fleetwood Mac made a comeback and did a sold out world tour, thanks in part to a New Political Rockstar- Bill Clinton.  The progressive movement was making waves and the waves brought a good buzz.  We were sick of just saying No, We Wanted to say Yes…. but most knew the Hangover was coming and no amount of aspirin would make the pain go away.

In 1993 a few nut jobs shacked up in a large barn decided to take a few shots at some overweight ATF agents and the world just blew up.  Fire & Brimstone fell upon the Branch Dravidians’ while the world watched.  In the end we all felt dirty, the pounding headache was just beginning.  Be it a young boy found on a raft and the old school Cubans who wanted to steal him to Eron’s fake $$$’s our heads screamed out for relief.

People ask why the Duke listens to 70’s music, it was the drugs that made the music bad I say.  No one was singing about raping a girl, no song every spoke about “Doing Bitches”, yes we got stuck with songs called “PopCorn” and a Catchy TV’s commercial…Wouldn’t you like to buy the world a coke?

Crazy Ted

Crazy Ted

Wow you blink and you could miss a lot.  The other day a washed up, red neck, Detroit born, NRA loving, C list Rock Star named Ted Nugent went on a rant.  He claims that the President is after his guns.  Mad man Ted even said he was gonna kill the President, or at least take his head.   What a guy.

Add on the Right stumbling all over themselves this Sunday when talking about abortion, you get that crazy Tea Party/Republican Party your father was Afraid of.

Since Obama has declared open season on Big Oil I took the silver shark out for a run.  As I drove south towards the SkyWay I watched my sharks liquid drain as it charged harder & faster...breaking triple digits.  It's a good feeling, driving true American muscle, truly fast.  Now that gas is .20 cheaper I felt as if I was helping .  Big Oil be dammed.

Now that our nations Sexual Service has blown more than its cover, the folks at Mons Venus are adding more "Talent" before August.  With all those great moral Republicans hitting town and all the agents in one place...business will be brisk!  Mayor Buckhorn has issued a Call to STOP the Bayshore beautification plan and switch it to Nebraska Ave.   The Tranny's and Crackhead Hookers are getting ready for new johns.

Yea, American Politics at its best

Drinking

Drinking

It's funny to watch the people of America drink at a bar.  You get to see all kinds of folks.  The big talker who claims to be a lot of things, rich, connected and the object of every woman's desire.  The quite one, male or female, they don't talk a lot, they watch ,From a far and when the time is right they strike.  The others cover a trail of destruction, divorce, womanizing, drugs and much worst.  Some are sad saps who get taken for every penny by big tit barmaids and drunken whores.  We all know men & women like that, on both sides.

Now that Santorum is out of the race the country is feeling a bit at easy. Mitt v Newt v Obama is a much better way for the USA to go.  Mitt's wife Ann is the new poster girl for the left's talking heads and the folks at Fox News are on the defensive to protect their Right Flank as the Tea Party cancer t continues to eat away at the Grand Old Party.  Not that the Left is alone in this toxic season.  Democrats are fighting among theirselves as well.  Obama has done the best any man could, if many folks are honest with themselves- McCain would have been worst.  Hillary wouldn't have gone for it on the AHCA and Mitt would have "non-bailed" us out of the stone age or better said "Flushed Detroit" down a toilet.

It's not yet "half-time" in America but it is getting better.

The Buffett Rule & The Bud Rule

Buffett Rule & the Bud Rule

As the President proposes a tax on the rich, or better yet make them pay a fair share.  A person making $8.00 a hour is getting taxed to death with Mitt pays 15% for doing nothing.  The Bud rule, the people who drink beer- cheap & domestic, have no shot to make it in today's good'ol USA.
Taxed to death? You may say slightly sarcastic.  Yes!  His Beer is taxed, his car is taxed, his Gas/power bill/cable and just about every thing he consumes is taxed.  While Mitt & his friends pay for very little in tax. Sure they pay state & federal income tax and maybe a few others but his consumption is far less.  Sure a house with a car elevator is consumption but it's the daily consumption to live, day to day, that Mitt skips out on.
The Bud Rule is silent.  It's a hidden tax that keeps the common man down.

Mitt, Rick & Newt and a few friends of ours all have bent more than few good folks over a barrel.  Yet they scream for lower taxes.  It will trickle down- just like Reagan said it would. Sure and trailer parks & homeless shelters don't exist.

If the right truly wanted to cut taxes, look towards the Bud Rule.
