Well, we are getting better in the bay area. But still not good enough!! Even a Bass Pro Shop and its $15Million Tax break/pay-out from Hillsborough County may help. Just what Brandon needs, another shopping center! The recent ranking of Southern Cities puts Tampa in 5th Place, Dallas in 1st Place and who really cares where Jacksonville ranks-its in Georgia!
Transportation in the Bay area was ranked better than years pass, surprising to anyone who travels I-275, but its nice to know we are making improvements. The Biggest spot for concern is the area's lagging innovation. Raleigh-Durham is cleaning our clocks in venture capital it wins and by wide margin. With USF Medical & Moffit growing we need to seed that growth to compete. This once again shows why JD Alexander's "Polk Poly" cram job is the wrong move. Let's hope that the BOG choses not to follow JD's plan, filing it under "SandScript/Lost Languages". USF & HCC can be and are some of the Bay area's biggest & best innovation drivers. With out those schools, I for one, would find it hard to see us even ranked in the top 5 for innovation.
